Scheduled for release on 27th February 2026, this captivating collection spans genres including dance, electro pop, progressive house, and vocal house, promising to ignite dance floors and beyond worldwide.

This album marks an evolution for Mark VDH, who has built a stellar career remixing and producing for global audiences. Having released several singles and albums of remix work, he now steps forward with his own compositions. Many of these tracks were penned during the creation of his debut feature documentary, Pieces of Us, which premiered in 2023 and chronicles the stories of five LGBTQ hate crime survivors who forged a resilient community by sharing their recoveries publicly. One of the film’s subjects, NYC gay rapper and recording artist Jipsta, is a frequent musical collaborator, and lends a verse to I Want You Out.

Structured like a classic vinyl album, the 10 songs on Electricity weave a narrative of hope, love, loss, overcoming difference, self-discovery, and embracing personal power – themes that echo those in the film. Electricity is a lot like love: powerful, scary, comforting, necessary, and illuminating. Highlights include an extended version of the film’s opening theme, Hold on to Love, co-produced with Chris Cox, half of the legendary dance music duo Thunderpuss, at his Las Vegas studio, and sung by Debby Holiday. Another standout is Tomorrow’s Lost its Way, the premiere of the first song Mark VDH ever wrote, over 40 years ago, sung by Chris’s daughter, Angelica Cox. The first single out now, Walk it Like You Mean It, is a love letter to the LGBTQ ballroom community.

With the exception of the movie theme, Mark VDH performs all instruments himself, recording solo in his home studio in Los Angeles. He collaborated with exceptional co-writers and singers throughout the process. The album was mixed by LA’s platinum selling engineer Alex Prieto. Drawing inspiration from cherished albums such as Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, Annie Lennox’s Diva, and Kristine W’s Land of the Living, Mark VDH aims to revive the era of musical storytelling where albums reigned supreme, evoking the profound emotions those records stirred in him.

Mark VDH has been a force in the music industry for over three decades, writing, mixing, editing, and producing music for television, film, and dance clubs worldwide. Before relocating to Los Angeles, he contributed background music to all four ABC Daytime Dramas in the 1990s in New York, and now serves as audio supervisor on the Fox animated show Bob’s Burgers. In the early 2000’s Mark VDH partnered with Los Angeles DJ Alexander, producing and remixing over 300 tracks, their work appearing on dance compilations from industry giants like DJ Abel, Tony Moran, David Knapp, DJ Escape, and more. Their collaborations included four top ten Billboard dance hits featuring vocals from Inaya Day, Debbie Holiday, and Tony Braxton, as well as their iconic 2010 original Get Into It, showcasing the legendary voice of Miami’s Alan T.

Moving into the solo arena, Mark VDH released several singles featuring LA’s vivacious drag queen ChaCha, followed by The Private Mixes in 2025. His first album of original songs, Electricity, arrives in February 2026. Listeners can expect Mark VDH’s signature melodic sound, fused with pulsing bass lines and unique house and Latin-inspired rhythms, pumping through club speakers globally every weekend. Get into it!
